Its shade is made of several pieces of die-cut wood veneer which gives it a dynamic, easy and sensual appearance. The fringe creates a play of light and shadow, while its lightweight structure achieves an elegant, stylised shape. The MiniMikado-A version features a slightly modified design, making Mikado lighter and easier to adapt to the wall format. The result is a product with a great formal richness. The Mikado family was created by Spanish designer Miguel Herranz in 2005. It was awarded the Good Design prize in 2008, in the lighting category, and got the Design Plus award in 2006 (“Light and Building”, Frankfurt). In the wall version, the MiniMikado dimensions are 55 cm (length) and 27 cm (width). Available also as floor version and hanging lamp.
